Documentation question on slipstreaming updates

In the Documentation section, it states:

Cumulative Updates starting with August 2012 (SharePoint 2010) and April 2013 (SharePoint 2013) do not slipstream properly due to a change in the way MS is doing their packaging. So the latest supported slipstream-able updates for each product are:
  • SharePoint 2010: SP1 + June 2012 CU
  • SharePoint 2013: March 2013 PU (Public Update)
However, based on the discussions I've seen and the fact that the configuration file seems to support them, it seems like this has been long since resolved. So, to clarify, is the documentation incorrect on this? IOW, can I now slipstream CUs up until July 2014 into SharePoint 2013 SP1?

You're correct - I have since incorporated a workaround that allows you to slipstream these updates. However I've since run into issues with the August 2014 CU for SharePoint 2013 which throws a wrench into the whole operation by not being truly "cumulative". But you should be OK with any other CU.
